A Magnetic Filter – Metal Trap uses a magnetic field to attract and hold these ferrous particles out of circulation, preventing them from recirculating through the lubrication system and continuing to abrade internal surfaces.
Because it works on a different principle to centrifugal or cartridge filtration, a magnetic trap is typically used as a complementary stage — fitted alongside a Centrifugal Oil Cleaner, Oil Purifier System or Mechanical Filtration System — to extend both oil life and the service interval of the primary filter.
